hi, this is dr. hourglass and welcome to another video in our channel wonder breasts. today we are going to discuss how to correctbreast asymmetries. in this channel we discuss everything related to breast surgery. welcome back! there is no question that 100% of women on earth have asymmetric breasts. when it comes to breast asymmetry based onvolume, i have noticed that a 50 to 75 cc difference in volume creates a noticeabledifference in breast size. it is not going to change your cup size, but it will make your breasts significantly different after surgery in terms of fullness.

so, if you have asymmetric breasts and you have more than a 50 to 75 cc difference in volume, it is not wise to use the same size implant on both sides, or your breasts are going to look lopsided. let me show you in this diagram how this works. let’s assume that you have a 50 to 75 cc difference on the right breast. in other words, the right breast is bigger than the left breast. i can tell you based on a physical exam moreor less how asymmetric your breasts are. for the smaller breast, we are going to use abigger implant. so, let’s say that during consultation, we decided the 450 cc

would be the maximal amount of filling that your breasts could handle. well, i am going to put the bigger implant in the smaller breast on the left side. then, during surgery, i am going to use a sizer. only god can tell you the exact difference in volume. the sizer essentially is a saline bag that i am going to place in the breast and then inflate until i get close to the volume that matches your other breast as best i can. so, let’s say that once i put the sizer on the bigger breast, the volume that seems to be the most appropriatefor this particular case is 400 cc. i will remove the sizer and then place a 400 cc siliconeimplant in the bigger breast.

in this way, i will be able to match your breast size asbest as i can. this is why it is important to have a physicalexam before surgery. then, i can determine which side is going to have the bigger implant and which side is going to have the smaller implant. i will then use techniques like using a sizer to match the volume of your breasts and make them look similar, but remember,your breasts will never be twins. they are going to be close sisters. in this video, we discussed breast asymmetry. next week we will discuss implant volume.
